From Our Founder

My name's A.J. and I am the founder and owner of Your Final Will.

I was born in Toronto, Ontario. I grew up in the suburbs of nearby Mississauga.

I graduated from Toronto's Osgoode Hall Law School in 2011 and was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2012.

In the early 2010s I practiced civil litigation. In the second half of that decade I switched over to a solicitor-side practice involving real estate and wills & estates.

During the course of the latter I took notice of the types of estate plans that most people expressed, common pain points and thresholds regarding affordability and ease, and the state of available Will-drafting kits and software.

I envisioned a product that could distinguish itself from others in a competitive market on the following lines.

It would be streamlined, straightforward, and nimble. Unlike other services, one would not be first required to make an account & password with the website in order to use it.

It would be highly predictive and architected to people's expectations such that one may have a proper Will ready in under 5 minutes. While simple and easy to use for the general public, it would also be customizable and feature-packed for customers looking for flexibility.

It would offer both one-time purchase options and an all-time membership package. Altogether, with no barrier to entry, a blazing fast, autopilot-like process, and an unbeatable price point, it would serve to empower Canadians to obtain high-quality Wills quickly and affordably unlike no other platform in an age where the majority of Canadians do not have one.

Following this vision, in 2023 I decided to wrap up my practice and start teaching myself programming and software development. I coded Your Final Will full-time over the course of 2024 & 2025. I launched it at the beginning of 2026. All that you see is the result of my efforts. I hope it suits your needs.
